This fantastic trip is focused on the Patagonia region shared by Argentina and Chile. Through luxury and adventure, you will explore the southernmost area of South America. After arriving to Buenos Aires, a picturesque Argentinian city, you will get to enjoy all the cultural experiences it has to offer. You’ll then head south for the opportunity to go whale watching, see penguin colonies, trek in national parks, and even walk on the Perito Moreno Glacier.

Main Activities
DAY 1– Buenos Aires
Upon arrival you will have a transfer to your Hotel
In the evening you will have cooking lessons at El Federal Restaurant (dinner included). You will learn to prepare a traditional “Asado Argentino”. Argentinians are renowned worldwide for their delicious cuts of meats and tasty seasonings.

DAY 2– Buenos Aires Four Balconies Tour
European in appearance, Buenos Aires can keep any culture-oriented visitor busy indefinitely. No matter when you arrive, there will always be a chance to participate in cultural events, such as watching a Tango performance, a thrilling football (soccer) match, a local gaucho game of “pato”, a sort of basketball on horseback or you can take it easy and just enjoy the fantastic food, or the delights the Teatro Colón has to offer.
The Four Balconies Tour of Buenos Aires is an exclusive visit of Buenos Aires, in which a scholar, professor of the University of Buenos Aires, uses four parks and plazas of the city (Plaza de Mayo, Parque Lezama and La Boca, Plaza San Martin and Recoleta) to introduce visitors to Argentina, its history, and the characteristic psychology of the Porteños, the inhabitants of Buenos Aires.

DAY 3– Visit to Punta Tombo and Gaiman:
Early morning transfer to the Ezeiza airport for your flight to Trelew. Upon arrival you will be assisted to your hotel.
Later that morning you will continue to Punta Tombo, the most important breeding colony of Magellanic penguins in the world. You will walk through a trail that cuts deep into the colony to closely observe these fascinating birds, as well as other species. On the way back to Trelew you will visit Gaiman, a typical Welsh settlement. The main attractions are the Welsh Tea Houses, where the descendants of the settlers prepare and serve the greatest classic Welsh tea accompanied by fantastic pastries.

DAY 4– Peninsula de Valdes for Whale Watching and Sightseeing
You will depart to Península de Valdez for your Whale Watching tour, which begins with a drive along National Route N° 3 to reach the entrance to Valdes Peninsula. After crossing the Ameghino Isthmus, from where you can watch Golfo San José and Golfo Nuevo, you’ll arrive at a huge Peninsula. The road will lead you to Puerto Piramides.
On the way, you will see the wildlife of the area: Guanacos, Lesser Rheas, Patagonian Foxes, Hairy Armadillos, South American Sea Lions, Dolphin Gulls, Kelp Gulls, amongst others.
In Puerto Pirámides you will embark a boat to navigate the Atlantic Ocean and appreciate the shore & wildlife of the area. From June to December is a very good time to observe Southern Right Whales.

DAY 5– Beagle Channel Private Cruise in the Evening:
In the morning you will have a transfer to the airport for your flight to Ushuaia, appropriately known as the end of the world. Upon arrival, you will have a private transfer to your hotel.
In the afternoon you’ll be able to go on a private sailing tour in the Beagle Channel with dinner on board.

DAY 6– Full Day Gable Island and Penguin Colony:
Ninety kilometers east of Ushuaia on National Route Nº3, Tierra del Fuego’s oldest ranch, Estancia Harberton, is located.
From the estancia you will board a small boat to visit the penguin rookery at Martillo Island. The unique location of this island (close to the point where the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean waters merge) allows for an incredible variety of rich subaquatic life to thrive, thus making it an amazing spot for birdwatching.
From there you will head to Gable Island, the largest in the Beagle Channel, for late lunch. In the afternoon you will have a 2/3-hour hike; you’ll return to the refuge and enjoy hot drinks. You will then return to Ushuaia late in the afternoon.

DAY 7– Tierra del Fuego National Park:
Today you will find yourself at the “End of the World”, or as most people know it, Tierra del Fuego National Park or Lapataia.
Upon arrival to the Park you will start a 7 km trek (3.5 hours) to a wonderful scenic point overlooking Lake Roca, Laguna Verde and Negra, Rivers Ovando and Bahía Lapataia. Hiking through this beech forest you will be able to look for the Magellanic Woodpecker, Austral Parakeets, Black-Chested Buzzard Eagles, and Andean Condors. You’ll also be able to enjoy lunch in the camping area of Lake Roca. The excursion around the park also includes a canoeing expedition and once that is finished, you’ll return to the hotel in the afternoon.

DAY 8– El Calafate:
Free morning in Ushuaia for sightseeing and shopping.
In the afternoon you will be transferred to the local airport to board your flight to El Calafate. Upon arrival you will have a transfer to your hotel.
In El Calafate you will find yourself at the gateway to the majestic world of glaciers. This town is located at the edge of Lake Argentino, a body of water that covers 1,600 km2, with a length of 60 km and a width of 14 km. The Calafate fruit is a delicious berry, great for making jam. According to tradition, whoever eats the Calafate fruit will return for many more…

DAY 9– Perito Moreno Glacier:
Your guide will be in the hotel early morning to take you to Los Glaciares National Park.
The excursion begins in the pier located at “Bajo de las Sombras” bay, where you will embark to cross the Brazo Rico, reaching the southwest shore where you can appreciate the southern wall of the Perito Moreno Glacier.
After disembarking, you will walk by the shore to reach the glacier. Once you are in front of it, the guides will give you crampons and the instructions to go on a 2-hours hike over the ice. In this mini trek over the glacier, you’ll admire lots of ice formations such as: cracks, drains, tunnels, and little lagoons. At the end of the hike, you will go back to the shelter by walking through the exuberant Magellanic forest, the perfect place to enjoy your box lunch. In the afternoon you will cross the lake and once you arrive at the pier, you will head to the catwalks in front of the Perito Moreno glacier. These catwalks have amazing views of glacier, and because it is the last moving glacier in the world, you can see the ice progressively carving, creating huge waves and an amazing experience altogether.

DAY 10 Transfer to the Chilean Patagonia. Torres del Paine National Park.
In the morning you will have a transfer to the border with Chile. There you will cross the bridge and will be greeted by your Chilean guide. The drive from El Calafate to Torres del Paine takes 6 hours on route crossing the Pampa. You’ll arrive to your Hotel in the early afternoon, and you’ll have the option to go on your first outing.
The Ecocamp is known for its location and ecological construction. It’s isolated from the central part of the Park and offers incredible wildlife sightings as well as landscapes.
Overnight in the Ecocamp or Awasi Hotel.
Day 11 to 14. Torres del Paine National Park
Make the best of the Ecocamp and the activities they offer while staying there. You can visit the Blue Lagoon and have incredible views of las Torres del Paine, go on a hike to reach the base of Las Torres, visit Nordenskold lake and enjoy the majestic landscape of Paine grande or sign up for wildlife observation, kayaking or biking tours. The Hotel also offers yoga classes.

Day 14—Transfer to Punta Arenas. Flight back to Santiago
Early morning you will have a transfer to Punta Arenas for your flight to Santiago. Depending on the time of your international flight it is possible to add an extra night in Santiago or have you wait at the airport for your flight back home.
